College of Arts and Sciences Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy Chair Dr. Glenn Pajares scored plaques and certificates in the 2nd International Conference on Multi-Disciplinary Research held at EastView Hotel, Bacolod City on October 21-22, 2011. Dr. Pajares garnered a Gold International Quality Award for his Oral Research Presentation on “Aristotle as an Idealist.” He bagged a Diamond International Quality Award for his presentation entitled “Philippine History in the Perspective of Friedrich Nietzsche’ Philosophy.” |

Josenians end 2011 with a flourish; go for series of wins |

The University of San Jose-Recoletos successfully ended the 2011 academic year with a bang through a series of wins in CESAFI, SCORES, and in the first University Quiz Competition. USJ-R bagged two championship seats in the recently concluded Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) competitions. Pia Marie Abejo reigns as champion in the Solo Category of the Singing Competition while the USJ-R Scrabble Team composed of Orgie A. Albaño (BSA 1), Raymund M. Noble (BSIE 5), Jomin Q. Bula (BSA 1), Jane Annalyn M. Navarido (BSMA 3), and Prince Paolo Pelayo III (BSBA Gen 2) beat the five-time champion in the Scrabble competition. The team was coached by Engr. Ma. Teresa P. Barola.Other Josenian winners in the CESAFI competitions include: Giovanni Garcia who bagged the 2nd place in the Extemporaneous Speaking Contest and the pair Janine Mae Senarlo and Joel Costillas, Jr. who placed 3rd in the Duet Category of the Singing Competition. |

Keeping abreast with the fast-paced demands of the of the industry, the Recoletos Industrial and Technological Training Center (RITTC) organized the 4th Commencement Exercises for the Medical Transcription and the Hardware Servicing group on December 10, 2011 at the St. Ezekiel Moreno Bldg. AVR, USJ-R Basak Campus. 14 Medical Transcription NC II and 16 Computer Hardware Servicing NC II graduates marched to receive their certificates of completion from USJ-R President Rev. Fr. Enrico Peter A. Silab, OAR, VP-Admin Rev. Fr. Raul Buhay, OAR, and TESDA Reg. VII Provincial Director Buenafe Sta. Rita. |
