USJ-R launches Project Pakigdait |

Living out the Josenian philosophy of Caritas et Scientia (Charity and Science), the USJ-R Institute of Non-Formal Education Community Outreach Program (INFECOP) in coordination with Brgy. Basak and the City of Lapu-lapu formally launched Project Pakigdait sa Sudtunggan Relocation Site on Jan. 23. Project Pakigdait is a five-year community development program that aims to improve all aspects of life of the adopted community. Features of the program include: community building, livelihood program, enhancement program, spiritual program, literary program, health promotion, structural development, psychosocial development, and disaster management program. |

USJ-R, KCAU sign initial agreement |

An initial agreement was made between the University of San Jose-Recoletos and Kongju Communication Arts University (KCAU) of Chongnam Korea on January 15 at the USJ-R President’s Office. The initial agreement is a prelude to the signing of an official memorandum of agreement that will stipulate specific provisions for activities like student exchange, faculty and staff exchange, delegation visits, research consortia, socio-cultural exchange programs, and extension programs. |

English Language Program classes kick off |

The realization of the USJ-R College of Arts and Sciences and Cebu Pacific International Language School (CPILS) Joint Program Agreement signed on March 20, 2009 is underway.January 11, 2010 marked the first step in the realization of the English Language Program as stated in the Joint Program Agreement when 34 Korean students took the Placement Test at the USJ-R Conference Room. Used as the gauge to determine the level of English Language Proficiency of the students, the test consisted of three parts: speaking, reading, and listening. |
